Alpha (Spring) 2025

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith for people with no faith as well as those wanting to learn a little more, so why not invite someone new to come with you, all are welcome. Each talk looks at a different topic of our faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe; it runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes, prison and more. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Food has a way of bringing people together so at Alpha, most sessions start with food. It’s a great way to build community and get to know each other but it also lets people come straight from work for their evening meal.

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long and delivered over about seven weeks; we plan to use the Alpha videos. They explore big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. We start on Thursday 24th May in St. Andrew’s Annexe.

Finally, it is all free and, if you decide it’s not for you, we will respect your decision.

Thank you.

Family Service (without Communion) at St. Michael’s Horton – starting January 2025

Starting from the New year (every 2nd Sunday of the month) we will be introducing a new family service at St. Michael’s Horton. This non-Eucharist service is being offered to encourage local families to worship together in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is also the service when we will offer baptisms at St. Michael’s Horton. Can I please encourage you to spread the message with your neighbours/communities, who may be interested in attending church locally.
